I wonder if this has any relevance to what happened - taken from their FB page - I think they have disabled comments - shame. But I guess they've lost a lot of business or something like that. Perhaps that's why they're cancelling the prizes?

I hope that you all managed to watch us on Channel 5's The Hotel
Inspector. Unfortuneately some information was not presented accurately and after reading comments on the Channel 5 website and emails received I feel that I have to write this.
Firstly, a big thank you to all who have made very positive comments about the show, one of the reasons why I have decided to sell is that I also have a hotel abroad and I am wanting to persue that venture - I feel that with the hard work I have put into the place and with the hard work Alex has put in it has now reached a point where the hotel can move forward under new ownership - the hotel is still trading and operating.
Secondly, I would like to make clear that I DID NOT lose my star
rating, since I purchased the property I was always in 2 minds whether to go down the star rating route - getting involved in Alex brought it to a head and as you can see from the programme I was awarded a 3 star rating - I traded as a 3 star hotel for 6 months and after reviewing it decided that the 3 star rating quite frankly was not of any benefit to the hotel or its business - Blackpool is awash with 3 star hotels.
After a discussion with the local tourist board in which I was advised "the star rating system does not work for all hotels/b & b's" - I decided to withdraw from the scheme. However, although I have withdrawn from the scheme you can be assured that the same standards are still in operation as if I was rated.
Thirdly, a comment was made by Alex in which she reffered that
Bentleys does not cater for the gay, lesbian, or transgender community, this is TOTALLY INCORRECT, the comment that I made to the show producers was that as I am situated in Blackpool's Gay village I dont advertise to the gay, lesbian or transgender community, in my experience people look on search engines for the Blackpool Gay Village and the streets that are within the gay village and then hotels on those streets.

my sincere apologies if this comment has caused any offence."

I would have thought that he would not be able to sell the hotel within a certain timeframe after the show but have no idea

I would certainly give them a call and let them know, they may well do a follow up programme and would like to know

I'm confused. So the complaint was upheld, but the winners still don't get their prize? What sort of a victory is that? Or am I missing something?
