To be honest I don't think you will be able to d anything about it! Tell them that you won't be recommending them in the future that might scare them into doing the right thing and giving you your brek away

Am I being daft saying that the competition has not been cancelled - the competition ran its course, winners were drawn and notified - it is the prizes which have been cancelled and not honoured and surely that is completely unacceptable.

barnies advice in post 7 is good - or as they pushed the appearance on the Hotel Inspector why not get in touch with the show (she would sort them out:rotfl:)

Terrible that they have cancelled. I originally came across the competition after watching The Hotel Inspector.

On another note, it doesn't bode well when they can't even get the right tower for their website homepage.

Exactly what I was thinking, the competition had ended and the prize awarded so they are completely in the wrong. Good luck, I hope you find a resolution.

I'm with you all on that one. The comp ran it's course so wasn't cancelled. They are just trying to ack out of honouring the prize. I'm sure they can't do this ! Good luck pet ( & other winners ) hope you get it sorted xxx

Exactly, the competition cannot be cancelled because it has finished. They should not have picked winners if there were ongoing issues with administration (not sure what that means, receptionist having to many sick days??)

Anyway you won a prize and they need to fulfil it, I think a word in the shell like of the IPM will quickly sort this issue out. They will have to provide the prize or a prize of equal or higher value, in which case I imagine it is much simpler to just honour the bookings.

As I have been told before when a company have tried very hard to wiggle out of a prize, that legally they are bound to supply that prize whether they like it or not, 8 months on I finally got my prize with a bit of co-operation from the person running the comp and the IPM.

I didn't notice the tower on their webpage at first, but now I've looked and laughed - how can they get that wrong? Just shows what they're like, doesn't it!

Chrissie, thanks a lot - that's such a good point and it's one I will definitely be using when I get back in touch with the hotel.

I know it was probably said in jest, but they idea of getting in touch with the programme - The Hotel Inspector, is a good one! I know they won't do anything, but I'm sure someone at their end would be interested in hearing about mine, and all the other competition winner's, experiences. They do sometimes do a "re-visited" episode where they see what is happening at the hotel now, so maybe they could include this in it!

Good Luck with getting your prize. I didn't even enter the comp as I watched the series and thoroughly disliked the owner's attitude.

There usually is a clause in the comp terms that says that they can cancel. So you're on a dead horse there most likely.
Howeveeer....where did you enter this competition? IT can't be their site as it is unfinished, so I'd go to the comp source for this one.
Shame he hasn't got a Facebook page really, we could slaughter him on there ...but there's always another way to persuade him to change his mind considering he's obviously going to need to advertise someplace ..like TripAdvisor for example.
I'm more than up for a spot of community action on this one, and I'm sure a few others will be too. It's not true what they say, all publicity isn't good
