Argh - even more of an environmental nightmare. And it will cost you a fortune to heat.

No, I'm sure it won't! It's a common misconception that pools cost a fortune to heat. I have a 28' x 14' proper full size & depth inground pool and I can keep the temperature of that at 25C throughout the summer at a cost of only around £100 per year in electricity charges with no problem. Been doing that for 8 years and it's never cost any more than that, so I'm sure a smaller pool like these wouldn't be as much! :)
  • Many thanks, Arrived this morning.. just need the weatehr now + will be connecting to my solar pannel to warm... Free Heat!

I'm afraid you're not making a fair comparison. This pool is sitting in the air with absolutely no insulation. Your pool, is sitting in the gound which is inherently a better insulator, and it may have been built with insulation also.

Oh, and I presume you use Economy Seven to heat your pool. The average householder is not on this tarriff so it would require a change, with the corresponding higher daytime electricity charges.

Now that's more like it - I thoroughly approve!

  • Solar cover sounded like a good idea so ordered that along with an extra set of filters. Wil just need the chlorine mix and will be good to go for the summer :j

Don't expect great results from the solar cover. It is facing straigt up, which isn't the best angle to catch the sun, and it is heating the top of the water so convection cannot occur (you'll end up with a thin layer of warm water). But it does reduce evaporation and contamination.

  • Anyone had a shipping email from them yet?
  • Bleach=chlorine simple as that. In the famous ad it is in fact the chlorine 'that kills all known germs - dead!'
  • Received mine today btw, not yet opened it and as it's chucking it down at the moment, will have to wait a while to fill it up
