    Yesterday was:

Demigod of wind = Greek demigod of wind Aeolus
    Floating lava rocks = pumice

Aeolian islands exist, near Sicily. They're famous for pumice quarries.

So stuck a marker in there somewhere.

Do you think either the orange hint box is rubbish, or there are different locations, because my map today is definitely not giving the same locations that are being posted in this thread.

crispdust2, on the Dell UK wall they post a clue each day!

There you go pechow, i said i may have been thinking too laterally,
so i had my final guess near acropolis and it says - are you the closest cos it was my final go..
I'll skype father see if hes played 2day

Well i dunno really cos it seems ok for me but iam zoomed right in when guessing so less room for error?

I googled "floating lava rocks" since it seemed an odd phrase, and pumice came up, then I learned about pumice rafts floating in the oceans and sea. There was a big pumice raft near... Tongo? remote island in the Pacific, but when I googled the Aeolian islands it mentioned pumice so that seemed to click. Can't really think about today's clue though, beyond what has been said.

I zoomed right in too and dumped that marker on the exact spot :D I don't know. More people jumping in would be nice, but it is Sunday night, and it's not the kind of comp most people would want to share guesses and clues to if we're being honest (so thanks to those who do :) ).

The thing is though, that if we did work together on this, I'm sure it would increase our chances of winning. Just think how many non-MSE-ers will be trying to work it out alone. Here is how I think we would have the best chance...

Step 1) Do nothing until at least 1 clue is given. Then we discuss that clue.

Step 2) All Google and think to see what we can find - share what we come up with.

Step 3) Each of us sacrifice one, possibly two guesses - not at the same time, preferably staggered - then report back where, and what was said.

That way, we pool the clues and work out the right area as close as possible. That would leave each of us with 3-4 guesses, hopefully, in the right area.

Don't you think that gives us a better chance than just going it alone? It's a very big map to solve with just 5 guesses - but between us, we've got guesses to spare. That's what need, to home down the exact spot. So would you rather have 5 guesses anywhere in the world, or 3-4 guesses in the right area?

Let me know, because if everyone is playing for themselves, then I won't give any more of my clues and thoughts away, as I did with the last area.

Brilliant idea Blulu ... I'd much rather a MSE'r won than anyone else :) I'll have a look when I get in and throw in my guesses.
