hey all, i'm on a tesco month to month contract, text, mins and data. when i first got it tesco gave me help to get online via my blackberry. it stopped working a while back, now i have a new bb i phoned to get this sorted and they tell me that all bb must go thro a dif. package now specifically for bb due to something to do with the rim set up and accessing internet. so even tho i have data available on my contract i can't access it thro my bb and tesco? wireless is fine. seems odd but that's what they tell me. i'd have to buy a diff sim with bb data? i don't really know much about it. if anyone could let me know if this is the case, that i need a specific bb tariff.
i planned on moving to a 3 offer but not sure if i can use the data via my bb?

To just use the internet probably not, but to use BB features like BBM and puh email you need the BB bolt on.

You need to call/ email Tesco and get it put on your aco!!!! or at least checked why it's not working.

Whether you need BBM or not if you get the BB bolt on it gives you access to the internet, push email and BBM.

I am no expert in BB, but AFAIK even without a bolton you can access internet by using a different browser, like Opera.

Yes you can. Although it may work out cheaper to pay an extra £5pm for the BIS bolt on so you don't end up with a massive bill for accessing the internet. Blackberry compress their data so you don't use as much as other smartphones.

I'm connected to 24/7/365 via BIS and have never gone over my data allowance even when abroad.

well just phoned tesco and they are insisting that if i want to access the net/use my data on a bb phone i must take the bb tariff which is a fiver dearer for less mins/texts/data currently getting 500mins/too many texts and 1gb of data for £10. bloody rubbish!! used to work fine via opera and i can access wifi via opera just using tesco i can't. they told me any other phone would work, so i may be changing phones to keep the tariff.
