:eek:It doesn't matter what it is, and yes I do know, avoid and avoid again.
Not becuase it's french but simply as the owner has disclosed faults that they should sort if the want to sell.
Ask yourself what they haven't disclosed????:mad:;);););):eek:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
I had a renault scenic for 3 years an 06 plate petrol manual.
My advice dont buy one!! reliability is shocking especially electrics and when there is a problem no one othern than renault dealers want to know and they charge the earth.0 -
1.6 to 2.0 petrol all have dephaser cam pullys, renault do dephaser kits for £250-300 and a good indy can have it replaced in a short time with the propper tools.
dephaser pully failure is a result of wrong service schedules, and wrong oil used.
autobox failures are a pain in the 4rse for going into randomness faults wich cause limp mode, after encounting about three of these silly faults that cant be pinned down, i recomended friends and family to go to renault instead or sell it on in a period of the fault not rearing its ugly little head.
the 2003-2006 megane scenics are ones to avoid. improvements were made to 2006-2008 but still a hit and miss faulty vehicle.
deisels were better MINDTHE DPF though and be minfull the 1.9 DCI suffers with a injector failures as common problem.0 -
If they are knocking £1000 off for known faults then you just know its going to costs £2000 to fix it properly.
Have they ever had it serviced?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Thanks everyone, you all made the decision really easy......so I bought it!.....just kidding, stayed well clear:) By the way, they were acquaintances from abroad returning to their home country, I don't think they were trying to rob us but anyway it's clearly not even worth 1 or 2k.0

They ain't all bad, some of the lagunas and espaces had volvo 2L engines and auto gearboxes. Rare to find them now but those were incredibly reliable Renaults which had few problems engine and box wise..0
