My house is against me!
First I had an annoying smoke alarm, beep beep beep my batteries dying BUT you can't remove or replace my battery or put me in the wheelie bin :rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:
It was like phoebe on friends ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tkY08MhfoU
Then the same night I had the leak through the living room ceiling ...
and tonight, just plugged PS3 in to watch a dvd and a big spark came out the plug and all the electrics went off :eek:
Thank god Mr M told me what to do if that happens (the electrics going off, not the mild heart attack caused by a spark coming out the plug :rotfl::rotfl:) or I'd have been sat with my Yankee Candle all night until he came home from work :rotfl::rotfl:Small business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0 -

melvis your fire alarm story made me giggle. we had one that started beeping so like you i opened it up to change the battery. no can't do that sticker says battery cannot be changed. nothing i did xould shut the thing up. it drove me mad. i even cut the wires and still the thing beeped. i chucked it in the bottom of my wheelie bin and i could still hear it frim my bedroom. i was glad when the bins got emptied :rotfl:

It was awful! I came in from Tesco and both dogs were panicing cos of the beep. Took a chair upstairs, opened smoke alarm and battery can't be removed :mad: Mr M at work so took me about 20 mins to find a screwdriver :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: then removed smoke alarm from ceiling, still couldn't get to battery so hid alarm in back spare bedroom :rotfl::rotfl: Could still here it but not as much. Rude Boy hid under kitchen table for about an hour looking all scared, then finally managed to calm him down. Mr M came home 3 hours later and brought smoke alarm downstairs so Izzy started crying :rotfl::rotfl: but he managed to disconnect battery after about 20 minutes :rotfl::rotfl:Small business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0 -
Morning all,
Hope everyone is well today.
Will add my smoke alarm story. When we had loft conversion done we had to put in alarms that were wired in to electric supply and had batteries. Few years later something stuck and the alarm was so loud we had neighbours at the door! It took us ages to disconnect it as electrician hadn't left much wire on the connection.
Hope everyone has a nice and lucky Easter Weekend. Peeps are coming and going here constantly which is driving me mad. DD going to sleepover tonight though and DS working tomorrow so should settle down I hope.
