    Macc - call up & upgrade your ISA to a 1yr fixed if thats what you want. Your sort code & account number will stay the same, but it'll become a 1yr fixed account instead.

    I just meant close it once the money had been transferred out of it and into the new one.

    Or are there any benefits to leaving an ISA acc with a £0.00 balance open?

    Sorry I misread your earlier post. I thought you said that all you needed to do was close the existing ISA, but I see that is not what you said at all. I missed the all important "no".

    In my experience the old ISA is automatically closed once the funds are transferred out.
