Long Stay Travel insurance for retired couples?

Hi Everyone,
My parents have recently retired and have planned a long (6 month) holiday in Malaysia where they will be staying with family. They will mostly be staying in Malaysia, but will also make a few short trips in and around S.E Asia.
I have advised them to take out some travel insurance for security and our piece of mind. I have begun looking online for quotes, but haven't been able to find anything below £800.
Has anyone got any advice or recommendations on what their options are? It's mostly the medical cover whist they are abroad that they will definitely need, so that should they fall ill or have an accident, any expensive medical expenses will be covered for. I'm assuming taking out an annual multi trip policy can be disregarded?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Google "long stay travel insurance over 65" and there are plenty of options. However don't expect it to be cheap due to their ages and length of stay.
However it is imperative that they get insurance whatever the cost. Should anything serious requiring medical treatment happen while they are away that results in them needing to be repatriated back the the UK, then the costs could bankrupt them and their family.
There are plenty of horror stories on the internet where this has happened.0
