Gas Safety dispute

British Gas are utterly untrustworthy.

My elderly mother was on one of their plans for years. Every year, commission-fuelled fitters tried some new excuse to try and condemn the boiler.

The last time, a fitter stated that the boiler was 'lethal' and had been 'dangerously installed from the very beginning'. It was pointed out to him that as BG had installed the boiler in the first place, a lawsuit would follow. He made a smart exit and a BG manager later rang up, shouting threats down the phone.

That was the last straw. Finally, after years of attempted cons, exit British Gas.

The accredited independent gas fitters that followed all remarked that the boiler was in excellent condition.

The boiler is a Baxi Solo WM 50/4 RS installed 1991 in a new build house.

There are a lot of places for a potential POC leak on this boiler.

Difficult to say from behind the keyboard.

I wonder what the combustion readings were from the flue outlet. Maybe it needs a strip down service.
