USPS Lost Package From America

Hi All,

Not that any of you were anxiously waiting an update but three weeks ago, my brother received the package back with a note from Royal Mail that the parcel wasn't collected. The packaging was damaged and a digit of my house number was not readable so I guess that's why I didn't get a note from the postman.

He re-sent it to me and used U-Pic insurance which was $2.50 as he had read bad stories about USPS insurance and I received it last week!

So, if any of you are considering cheap insurance for packages sent from the US then there are two options:
- Ship Cover from Ebay, can only be used if you buy via Ebay (http://www.shipcover.com/)
- U Pic (http://www.u-pic.com/)

Both have good reviews on payouts if the package is damaged/lost.

I don't think it's RM thats delivers USPS items but rather Parcel Force? I believe when I had something sent from the US via USPS it was handled by PF over here.

I had similar trouble having it delivered after I decided to trace it after it failed to arrive in a reasonable time I tracked it via USPS then onto customs here and then via Parcel Force and it turned out it had been sitting at a Post Office locally awaiting collection for the last couple of weeks, no card that I could ever find was put through my letter box -

I think it depends on the size of the item. I don't think PF will handle the really small stuff so it goes to RM. I might be wrong though.
