Plusnet Charge for New Line?

Just helping a friend out with a switch from VM cable to Plusnet (he has been paying too much to VM for years for hardly used services). As it's a switch from cable, a new or reconnected BT line will be required. Does anyone know how much Plusnet are currently charging for this (used to be around £60 IIRC)?
Secondly, the number has been with VM for at least a decade, are there likely to be any problems porting it over to Plusnet?

If your friend was with BT before they went to Virgin, you should be able to do a free "return to donor" to get the line back to BT, and get a MAC code from Virgin for a free transfer of broadband to a new provider (eg plusnet).

Hi there,
It'd be £49.99 for us to install a new phone line, and yes we should be able to port the number for you if you wish.
Hope that helps, cheers - please post back if there's any more questions.

Matt Taylor

Thanks but it's a cable line, not LLU. No MAC is required for a cable transfer. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
