Bathroom colour

We are going to put our house on the market but dont have much equity so want to achieve the asking price or really close.
The whole flat with the exception of the bathroom is painted cream. The bathroom is blue. Should we change that to cream too?
Is it really going to put buyers off ? One estate agent told us we had made the classic blue bathroom mistake !
My DIY is terrible so will have to pay for a decorater. Is it worth the money ?

I like a blue bathroom! Are we talking navy or lighter? I suppose it depends how old fashioned the tiles were. I like a bit of 'personality' in a house.
Or do you mean the suite is blue?
Are all the fittings chrome or gold?
You could neutralise it a bit - cream bathmat, accessories, etc.

Mmmm a house painted entirely in cream. What more could a buyer want? The EA sounds like div.
Personally I like a nice duck egg blue.0 -
I would leave it. My last place had a bathroom painted blue and it sold just fine.
If the rest is neutral it will cost a buyer £50 and a few hours to repaint the bathroom.
I personally like blue or brown as a bathroom colour scheme. Blue goes well in a watery room, surely.

Blue can look lovely. Aany colour can look good in a btharoom, as long as it's not avocado or mauve.0

Here's another vote for a blue bathroom - as long as it's pale and not dark blue! I'm sure people will be looking more at the actual bathroom suite/layout rather than the wall colour.0

Thanks all. The suite is white and the wall where the bath is , is tiled with white tiles with decorative tiles dotted here and there. The decorative tiles have a pale blue and yellow pattern - same colour blue as the remaining 3 walls.
Its not dark or depressing - I thought it looked more interesting than plain but the EA seemed to think it was awful.0 -
It sounds very nice - some estate agents should keep their thoughts to themselves!0

EA being a bit silly I think. What you describe sounds just fine. No dark blues which might be a bit much - it certainly wouldn't put me off buying. Even if I didn't like the pale blue - it would cost £20 and a Saturday to repaint it!
The suite colour is the main thing, as that's where the money and serious time-cost is involved. You can't go wrong with a white suite!0 -
Sounds fine to me.
Mind you, we sold our last house with a navy blue bathroom which I'm sure is not to everyone's taste but as noted above, it doesn't take much to repaint a bathroom! (Although I'm sure it took more than one coat

Our last house had a blue and white bathroom and our new house has a blue and white bathroom. Saved us buying new towels (they are blue!).
The worst bathroom we looked at when we were house-hunting had a pink suite, grey and pink tiles, and a (dirty) pink carpet. Your bathroom sounds just fine to me!0
