3 - won't allow tariff change for 9 months - legal?

    They wouldn't provide it in writing - in hindsight, why am I not surprised!!

    In answer to the question about whether you got it in writing whether you could downgrade, wouldn't it say in the price guide for the tariff when you signed up? Details of the downgrade policy are on the Three website http://www.three.co.uk/customer/linkdocument.omp?cid=1129202534973

    Slightly off topic, but I suspect that the retailers cannot be seen to be encouraging people to downgrade - the networks clamped down on this as some retailers (Talkworldonline were notorious - and went under from what I recall) used to advertise a 12 month free on 12 months contract, but it was only free if you downgraded at month six to the basement tariff. Others sold really high tariffs on cashback deals and again annoyed the networks as this gave a false impression of the number of customers/size of business etc.
