    I had an e-system one as well & it used to do the same after it installed updates during the night when in sleep mode.

    My Desktop does this from time to time...

    Is the laptop wireless?
    Do you leave it plugged in at night?

    It might be a power fluctuation that trips the laptop into starting.

    If it's on a network cable then it's possible a "Wake-On-Lan" signal is being sent somehow from your router or another machine.
