If I see any of you lot on Dragon's Den with that, there'll be trouble :P

Just booked a slot on Dragon's Den, I have a great idea of getting rid of snow, if you have your own PV system; expect to get full backing...:rotfl:

Can't believe I made a Hawaii + 0.4 O's......again, today, and boring,......... other days this month with all the cloud about; but hey ho, I ain't one to complain...smiley-laughing021.gifcoffee.gif

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

Quite a day, not only broke the 10MWh mark, but also got an Hawaii, 5.57 to be precise(ish). Plus best day of the year, and best week too.

Currently forecasting 113% for May if the rest is average ...... weatherman is not too confident of that.

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

    Best day yet for me!
    23.04kWh = 5.76 ho's - same as you tunnel ;)

I've now exceeded April's figures, up a ladder tomorrow too to clean the bird pooh off so may be gone for some time!!!!

As an aside, thoughts/suggestions on panel cleaning? My jetwash won't reach, not got the power but then it is 13 years old!, so looking for extending poles with brush attachments?
4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.

That's a cracking result so far! Better than initial expectations I guess?

Today was my best day @ 21.16kWh / 5.3 O's - still room for improvement too, from looking at the generation curve.
I've also just exceeded April's monthly total.

Rely on the elements to do it for you?

I can't imagine the economics make sense in terms of your valuable time spent cleaning.

It's going to hoof it down with rain overnight/morning according to the forecast so would expect that to give the panels a decent wash.

Yes, My Installer gave me a spread sheet with all the info i.e. output, future fuel costs, RPI, etc and estimated by year 7, I would be in profit.

Some of his numbers were higher that actual, but the estimated kWh were around 10% down on what I'm achieving:T

Some people may say the fuel savings are not all down to S/P but, having them fitted (and using Wattson) has made me more aware of where my cash is going;)

Considering I was paying £120.00 a month for electric and gas 5 years ago, and I am now paying £70.00 a month (OK some due to being more aware) I believe I will be in profit in year 5:D

    Hi

That's a really decent saving considering the increase in fuel prices over the last 5 years ....

Considering that the combined gas & electricity increase over that period must be at least 50%, you must now only be consuming 39% -(70/(120x1.5))of the energy you were using 5 years ago and the annual current cost savings would be £1320 (((120x1.5)-70)x12), which is pretty much the same as the average UK household total dual fuel energy expenditure (including standing charges), or the cost of ~9000kWh of imported electricity.

Well done, but I reckon that the majority, as opposed to "some", of the saving isn't pv related ..
