Renewables: "talking 'bout my generation"

2.04 O's for today: Sept 2012 was 29% above PVGIS; Sept 2013 was only 17.28% above; what a disaster....:rotfl:2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax:
Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).0 -
System: M1 3.58kWp
Total generation: 229kWh (2012 270kWh)
Generation per kWp: 63.97kWh
System: M2 2.0kWp
Total generation: 118kWh (2012 124.4kWh)
Generation per kWp: 59kWh
Silly facts:
1. ESE 10% under target, but WNW exactly 100%.
2. WNW is only 7kWh's short of annual target (PVGIS with no deduction despite shading issues).
3. Import 103kWh.
4. Apr to Sept 3,471kWh, 108% of target.
MartMart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

I'm delighted to say that my neighbour has cut down the Leylandii that was providing shadow from November to January - this will be my first winter without it.4kWp, Panels: 16 Hyundai HIS250MG, Inverter: SMA Sunny Boy 4000TLLocation: Bedford, Roof: South East facing, 20 degree pitch20kWh Pylontech US5000 batteries, Lux AC inverter,Skoda Enyaq iV80, TADO Central Heating control0 -
Just to celebrate having three Septembers to compare :-
2011 : 356kWh
2012 : 353kWh
2013 : 325kWh
I guess you might call that a steady downward trend and forecast that I'll be generating next to nothing in Year 25
OTOH, since the pvgis forecast is only 292 and all three figures were somewhere between 10 & 20 % above that I may postpone my laying awake worrying about it session for a few years yet :beer:NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
Amazing errors in the weather forecasts today !
Unfair to single out Metcheck - the only ones who ever try to forecast % cloud cover. When I went to bed last night they were forecasting 0% cloud for most of night and that it would continue cloudless till after lunch. The other forecasts I consulted were in broad agreement.
Imagine my surprise on seeing 100% cloud at first light  But the forecasters must have embraced my 'look out of the window technology' because by 10am Metcheck were saying 70% or more cloud for rest of day (& rest agreed). We did have a few (presumably unexpected) brighter spells during day but only managed 4.5kWh for the day.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
Well September produced 317kWh for me. I've submitted my 1/4 reads and am expecting just shy of £620(thank you July).
My SSW also produced 1720kWh for its first year. Very happy with that to say its shaded for a good couple of hours every day.
As for the weather....I've started using the BBC weather app on my phone. I'll check it in a morning and its been pretty damn accurate. Its helped me use my motorbike for commuting a lot more than if i'd relied on the nights before forecast. My spreadsheet is forecasting over 100 kWh over the annual estimate, but there is still 3 months to go.
Ie. if the next 3 months are 'average' I will be 100 kWh over the annual estimate.
Between March and June I was 140-150 kWh below forecast annual estimate.
July & August have been my 2 best ever months in regard to 'highest kWh over estimate'
Glad I didn't "count my chickens" as the last 10 days of Sept were poor resulting in my not even reaching PVGIS expectation.3.995kWP SSW facing.
