Barring an unexpected and very long lasting total eclipse, I'm confident my June will be '+' :cool2:
Afraid I don't share Martyn's confidence in the 8 day forecasts though. According to Metcheck we're having 1% cloud cover from now till 10am; my 'look out the window' check suggests 99% (but even that is producing half a kW which should keep the background items running gratis).
Stop Press: At 8:25 a sudden break in clouds produced a (brief) 2.5kW peak. That drops the average cloud cover for the 3h period a bit - but to more like 90% than 1%NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -

Hiya Eric. I have no confidence in them, they change too fast. For instance just looked again (2.5 hrs later) and the 8 days now contain 4 with grey clouds, 2 of which show rain. So more in line with my original guess last night.
Don't worry, not planning to keep updating these 8 (or 9) days, just getting pee'd off that they change so much, with no apparent consistency, especially from day 2 onwards.
I wouldn't want their job, it must be soul destroying at the moment, but what is the point of forecasting the weather ahead, if it's going to change so very, very much as it steadily moves each day from future to present.
Time to switch the dishwasher on, some sun has finally arrived.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Couldn't agree more - but met office claim to offer reliable forecasts and cost the taxpayer squillions so I feel justified in complaining when they get it wrong.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
18.3 kWh today.
Forecasts of 1% cloud @10am rising to 90ish for the afternoon proved disastrously wrong !
Dullish morning (90% cloud when I was promised 1%) gave way to a bright afternoon (perhaps 30% cloud but very little between us & sun most of time and a fantastic evening (but by then angle was too shallow to generate much).
I did manage to run dishwasher early afternoon. If tomorrow is sunny (as forecast - so little chance !) we have several loads of washing poised to run.
Have just broken through the pvgis forecast under 'old' rules or need 3 more kWh under new rules. Fairly confident of averaging more than 0.5 kWh/day for rest of weekNE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
11.08 kwh / 3.69 O's.. I suppose still above target for the month.0
