I installed the, presumably, latest version of PVGIS, the other day. It's giving me about 300kWh more, per annum, than the version I was using previously. Does anyone know hat has changed? I always thought the system loss figure was a bit pessimistic, or is it just an updated weather model?

@Netexporter near the top of the PVGIS page there is a green button to switch between versions 5.2 and 5.3. Switching to the older version 5.2 gives slightly lower predictions for me, so that may explain why you are now seeing higher values, if your original calculations were done using the older v5.2.
So the version has changed, and with it the results it generates have also changed slightly, but I cannot tell you what changed or why.

This is PVGIS24. Having had another look it seems to be the (hopefully) more realistic system losses. It was defaulted at 14% on the bold models, then new one breaks it down into three areas. Certainly the default 2% inverter loss accords with my inverter. The total default loss is now about 5%.

I have been using https://re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/pvg_tools/en/ which defaults to 14% loses as you say. I don't mind the higher predicted losses as that means I more regularly meet or exceed the prediction, which makes me feel all warm and fuzzy  :D
Maybe we need a standardised set of parameters (losses) for describing our production wrt PVGIS herein.

I suspect the old 5.2/5.3 models may be appropriate for older FiT era systems but the 24 model looks like it will be in the right ballpark when my system is a year old. On the old models my paid exports exceed the PVGIS prediction, before any self-consumption is accounted for.

At least the O system keeps the playing field level.
