4.32 O's best day since 27th August. There were still quite a lot of passing clouds today, so could have been even better.

Graph looks a right mess! As soon as the Sun appeared clouds zoomed over then they went again and then they came back. 16 peaks of various heights.

Best day of April so far.

  • Sorry to drag this thread back to March after a half reasonable afternoon (14.6kWh, 3.12 O's) but I've just compared this year with last, which was our first month. 248kWh this year, 448 last year - 65% of PVGIS compared with 118%. Ugh.

First Hawaii of the year for here, so plenty of DHW, washing, storage batts topped to 100% & 3 kWh's exported. All nothing to do with me. I was out all day from 06.45 to 18.30 covering 300 miles and returning home with just 3% remaining in the battery. Phew! :)

March was awful.... 287kWh... 82,1% of PVGIS.

Buuuuut, it wasn't the worse March in the last 9 years, 2018 takes that with 274kWh. I'm guessing that had something to do with the 'Beast from the East'.

Poor start to April, with a month end projection of 99%, but still enough gen to reach 50,004.8kWh yesterday. With installs of Aug 2011 for the ESE and July 2012 for the WNW. ESE hit payback in Sep 2020, WNW still needs another 2.5yrs. Good news for new installs, as comparing my system on a rough ratio of old 250Wp panels to modern 400Wp, would allow for ~9kWp potential (storage and DNO dependant).

Also lovely sunny day today, so despite 7C outside, the A2A's have warmed the house, and today is the first day (this year) we've started charging the BEV off PV, albeit at a miserly 8A. [I know, need batts. :/ ]
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

I'm getting really poor export on Agile at the moment so need a new export tariff for the summer.
