  • Pleased with 14kWh yesterday. Started bright and sunny but the afternoon brought cloud.

Not going to bother even looking at what March generated as lost about a week of generation as system triped out after power cut and did not notice  Hence why following Marts solution of the Current Cost with an OptiSmart to see whats going on up there :)

Too depressed to post for this month..:o

And bit confused people quoting % of different things, makes no meaningful comparison when people are quoting for different measures.

Surely, with all your double digit output days you did OK in March;)

I think it's more confusing if people do not know your system size:D

    2.95 O's for me today:)

    7 kWh here today.

kWh is a 'real' unit and of course the one my FIT payments are based upon; anyone who wants to compare my output with theirs is welcome to read my system size from the autosig.

Weather forecasts as amusing as ever. Most seemed (last night) convinced that today would be better than yesterday (but of course it wasn't). Metcheck correctly suggested (this morning) that morning would be dull and afternoon sunnier but went on to suggest no cloud and hence 'full sun' from 7pm till 10pm. Guess they were right from 7pm till 7:15 or thereabouts bit they seem to have overlooked sunset !

Got to agree with you there. Although, really comparing payments/costs is the ultimate truth? As on different tariffs now too..

Mind you, if that happened would probably get the infection that affects many other threads here. :D

All the other stuff is fun, but surely meaningless?

Location, roof pitch, weather, type of panels, type of inverter, cable lengths etc. all affect?

    How is anything else meaningful?

I do get the fun bit tho ;)

The reason I post in O's for short is that it is the very latest terminology on this thread for kWh/kWp.
The thread is called "Talking bout my generation". Your true generation is kWh/kWp; I think the poster ought to be responsible for posting his/her true generation; and the only true way of doing that is by posting it in kWh/kWp. This is then easily read by all, to determine if a system, however small, medium or large it is; how your system has performed in you own weather variant and gives an instant and exact relevence to other contibutors posts - hence the reason I now only post in kWh/kWp. (O's for short) We all like big numbers in ISA's, Bank Acounts, PV systems etc. and some always drive on the far right hand side lane on a motorway, even if there are 4 lanes and, the nearside two are empty. I would put it to you, that posting the number on your Gen Meter is irrelevant to what the thread is all about and does not portray a level playing field as far as number reporting is concerned... smiley-laughing021.gif

2.6 O's for me yesterday. (Sunday)
    1.88 O's today (Monday)......Good night from me and him....:rotfl:
2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax: B)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

But does it? Only if they were exact same as you, next door to you?

I read the OP post as "Talking bout my generation"

My generation yesterday was 11.1 kWh .

Pretty sure I answered the OP post.

    Your true generation is kWh/kWp

'True' generation is the kWh you get paid for.

Whilst your 'O' values might aid in comparison between different sized systems, they make no allowance for the angle at which panels are pointing or any shading effects. Nor indeed do they allow for different inverters having better or worse efficiencies. And of course nothing helps to give a valid comparison between Penzance & Inverness.

Only when you take all those factors into consideration can you have any idea of whether your system is performing better or worse than anyone else's.

To aid comparisons, my autosig has always included kWp, & panel angles.

    26.9 kWh today

At last a day where I don't seem to be the only part of the UK with clouds.

    A new record too. :j
