Could be something like - depends on your registration period for FIT and the size of your system. But we are 'talking bout my generation'. My true generation per kWp of my system is posted accurately, I am sure you may choose to post in whatever misguided form you wish if you want to. I see today you posted a number of 21.52; (5.38 O's) compared to WestonDave of 5.54 O's; which system performed best? I appreciate location plays an important factor, but for true comparison, this is as close as we will get. Time to smell the coffee beans me thinks....:rotfl:

    4.35 O's (24.3) for me.

I like the O's, but I also like the E's. But which is best? There's only one way to find out ....... FIGHT! (Little bit of Harry Hill there.)

Actually, E's are tricky for me as I have two tariffs, twice the wear and tear on the calculator. Or 3 times if I have to combine the results ...... who started this daft idea in the first place. :o

To some extent today and me compared to Eric is a good indicator of how little O's contribute to improving comparitives - albeit that in my view its a good start by removing system size as a variable.

Eric and I both have 4kWp systems so the O's vs raw kWk issue doesn't apply. We've probably had similar if not identical weather today which removes another performance variable. However its not clear whether I should have done better than I did compared to Eric given my southerly position (Bath vs Derbyshire - curiously half of my roots are from Staveley!) or whether he should have done better with his pure south facing system compared to my SE/SW split system.

The nearest we would get is a comparison of % of PVGIS acheived (because if done properly that takes account of size, position, orientation and slope) but even that doesn't level weather variations. So O's are maybe helpful, but only remove one of maybe 5 variables.

That said we aren't going to calculate PVGIS every day so O's is maybe as good as it gets - despite its limitations.

The kWh is part of the SI system and is recognised all over the world. In particular, it's recognised by Scottish Power who base my payments on the numbers I report to them in those units.

When you multiply Dave's 5.54 imaginary units by his 4 kWp system size you find he's produced 22.16 kWh. Clearly, he's done better. Hard to gauge what other folk who are advising in Os but have neglected to list system size might have actually generated

However, when you realise that my panels are probably shallower than his then you might be inclined to assume that it was a bit sunnier here than down in Bath - but although I might get a few brownie points for that I won't get any extra cash.

Depending on exactly when his system was installed, he might have paid a little more or a lot less than I have which will significantly affect his %ROI

To aid comparisons, it would of course help no end if everyone listed their system size(s) along with approx location and angles at which panels are set.

Without that info, we'd be comparing apples with bananas (and without knowing the relative calorific values of either fruit).

    Some good March news (hopefully).

The anomaly maps are ready, check out the mean temp comparison for Mch!

Anyways, back to PV, for me (Cardiff) sunshine is rated at 70% to 90% of average. My systems hit 83.5% (83.9% ESE & 82.79% WNW) so all is well with the world.

    Here's to a better April.
