    7.34kWh for me today

Best day for almost 3 months(2/11):D
Monthly total of 71kWh = 75% of Jan PVGIS
    Jan 2012 I made almost 100kWh

Beginning to think my system had hibernated

Then I noticed the Sunny Beam reading 2.21kW just after lunch:rotfl:

    7kWh here today :j
Finished Jan 8kWh (almost 12%) over PVGIS target :) thanks to a handful of great days compensating for all the dreadful ones.

Far from being worst ever month - if judging purely by kWh generated that title belongs to Dec 2010 when we generated only 50kWh (104% of target), if judging by % of target then Feb 2011 was the worst when only 72% of PVGIS target was generated (71kWh)

  • Today marked the end of my first year of generation; 366 days since 2012 was a leap year.

My original plan last year had been to get an E.ON rent-a-roof system and buy them out after 2 or 3 years. After looking at my house on Google they refused even to quote, due to the non-southerly aspect. I decided to use part of my Cash ISA to pay for my own system and the rest is history. I got in before the FIT rate was drastically reduced so am really pleased.

However, unless I generate 90 kWh tomorrow (and perhaps inverter will deign to use the 'k' if I do) I'll not get to PVGIS. More likely that I'll be reporting my worst ever month and something around 50% of PVGIS.

You won't be too surprised to learn that we didn't generate 90 kWh today :D You would of course have noticed if the Sun had turned into a supernova

It was quite a good day though : 6,447 Wh 70.2kWh for month.

Definitely my worst ever month both in absolute terms and as %PVGIS (approx 47%) but at least I avoided having to say money would have earnt more in an ISA.

    Whoops !

I was reading across a spreadsheet and got the January target wrong !

Jan was still the worst ever month in real terms but that was about half the Feb target rather than Jan's. Jan was actually 22% below PVGIS NOT 53%.

Thanks everyone for cheering me up. Apart from Jackie Black - bit of a blinder there, wow.

Actually in fairness not too bad here, got 89% of PVGIS climate, which looks pretty good given some of the results just posted.

The ESE system generated 67, compared to 72 for 2012, so no great change in the scheme of things. Time to see what Feb can do.

@F&NC 1 down, 24 to go and well above target during a messy year. Tidy!

    Hello Oscar

No the leaves on the trees will not hinder our generation much more now because the sun is now reaching the tops of the trees. The trees are about 300ft or so away and the sun has been hiding behind them all winter. Our summer generation was above average but the winter was lower so should level out over the year.

Trouble is neighbour has 2 huge trees 100ft up their garden which takes some of the sun from11am to 12.30pm. But, once the sun has moved behind them the sun is directly on to the panels this time of year. During the summer the sun is then much higher than their horrible non native trees in their garden.

So generation should pick up from around mid Feb onwards. Hopefully. ;)

We do seem to be very lucky with the weather here :)

Hoping for a few more good days before the next FIT quarter is up (12th Feb)
