If you post your day time unit price and preferably the temperature of your mains (?) water - "z" could come along and tell you how many cups of water were in the pot and what you saved. Did you wait for the kettle to turn itself off?
Hi John
I'd give it a go, but the graphics don't resolve to small enough timeslices to be accurate ...... we'd also need to calibrate the power rating of the particular element in that kettle and the cut-out thermostat and then there's the capacity of the particular cup into which the boiling water will be poured .... also the air pressure, mains voltage .... etc ....
Might be a better idea to just get a ~1kW kettle to reduce the proportion of power/energy which is imported ....
Nice graphics though !

What language are you people talking and what planet do you hail from
Seriously.....I don't think I understood a word (admittedly I have skipped about 99 pages) B U T .....how do you know so much stuff??
I'm guessing it's all about generating electricity from Solar Panels but sounds to me like you need a degree in astrophysics and chemistry and meteorology and lots of other ologies to get sorted with those ugly great panels stuck on your roof - very attractive not.
So how do I get started
You try very hard to avoid misinformation on the interweb:D
Can you work a sewing machine or drive a car, those are pretty complicated too.
What do you already know about electricity and are your thinking about investing in Photo Voltaic panels?

The purple bit of the boiling of the kettle represents the 2/3rds you paid for. The red bit that mirrors the green generation below the import export line represents the 1/3rd of the pot of tea you "mashed" for free.:T
Do I get a gold star?
How much is a "Holmes"?

Do I get a gold star? Yes, you do..
How much is a "Holmes"? Free to download, but as Eric says only works with Wattson, as Sherlock did.
Did you wait for the kettle to turn itself off? No, coffee should be made with water just under boiling point, that's why I drink it. (but I only put enough water in the kettle for one cup; so I know the capacity as mentioned in zeupater's post below) ! :rotfl:
N.B. I had the Aurora Desktop for over 1 year, found it to be useless, so spoke with my installers, and Power One, they agreed to take it back and exchange it for the Wattson free of charge. After all, all items now have a two year statutory warranty under EU Regulations that they work properly, the Aurora didn't, go John Go....'Holmes' is free actually - I have tried - several times - to download Holmes but have never managed to make it work properly. But I'm reasonably happy with just the Wattson unit indicating whether we're exporting or importing and can get any extra info I want from the inverter software or the conventional meter.
Eric; I should try again, I downloaded it quite easily, you have to get the drivers installed, and then it should work. If you still have a problem, e-mail energeno they will quickly sort it for you.:rotfl::rotfl:.....

Thought about getting a travel kettle as it uses less power than my system can produce, unless at peak; but, it's only money..:) :rotfl::rotfl:
Back to the Nitty: 2.7kWh todayThe current Holmes that the 'snap-shot' was taken from is a Beta vesion that I am currently trying, so the functionality of what you saw is not currently available on the current version; this is due for an upgrade soon.

LOL,
I bought a travel kettle to a bit more "greener" before my 2nd set of panels went on. Funny thing is,i'd been after a quiet kettle for about 2 years(2 young kids and open plan house). None of my previous kettles can come anywhere near as quiet as this. Its probably costing me more now in leccy though cos i never hear the damn thing click off so have to keep re-boiling it. :rotfl:2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0 -
