Sorry Dave, missed that bit completely. Congrats. Did it all go well? Are you happy? Have you been running back and for to the inverter or staring at a monitor? You do realise it's all downhill from here, best get an anorak now!

Anyways, another good day in daffodil land, got 20, and hopefully tomorrow will be even better, so 4 out of 5 days very close to my systems maximum potential.
Yes I know I'm gloating, but it beats my usual vicarious existence of staring at everyone else's numbers!
Have fun in the sun tomorrow (unless it's snowing).
Mart.
Yea Yea Yea.........Fat Chance I will even do 17 tomorrow:rotfl:.2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.

Hi Martyn - went pretty well - a few issues with their initial choice of scaffolders but when it looked like scuppering the install they were promptly dumped and they worked on the electrics whilst the new scaffolders put the scaff up, and then did the roof work in the afternoon. Very nice neat job - only visible bit is one line of trunking down a bedroom wall (my choice of location to keep the cable run short - I'll channel it in when I decorate that room), no mess, worked round my wife's need to have power most of the day as she works from home, and a nice bunch of guys to have in the house. They seem to have gone the extra mile - earthing the panels for example and putting in a seperate consumer unit, rather than doing the bare minimum.
We're split 9 and 7 panels (250W) ones with the 9 SE facing, so I was fairly impressed with 3.4kw yesterday afternoon when the sun was round more on the 7 than the 9. We've got a monitor (Sunnybeam) so no need to keep going up into the loft for the inverter!
I think we're still in the "Did we really just do that" phase, but if we can get the scaffolding shifted promptly, and the paperwork done, it will have been very painless.
Should be a good day for us - 1Kwh by the time I left at 8am and generating 1kw in nearly cloudless skies.Adventure before Dementia!0 -

It's been a reasonable day here 22.7Kwh.
However, it was very nearly a fantastic day. By true Noon (13:06 BST) I'd generated 14 Kwh and even that was with a few 'dips' in the curve (albeit only small ones). If the second half of the day had been as good, I'd have reported 28Kwh :T:T:T

I got just 20.75, but I thought the morning was slightly cloudier. It may not have been although I didn't take note of the figure at true noon (the novelty has all but worn away!)0 -
23.6 kWh yesterday - fairly consistent curve but clearly a few odd cloudy spells around the middle took a fair bit out. Main import meter doing "naughty" things at the moment but I guess they'll swap that once the FiT application goes through.Adventure before Dementia!0

Not fair! Now I've got to clean up the coffee I just spat across the keyboard. :rotfl:

I'd take advice over how wide/deep the chasing has to be from someone knowledgeable about the maximum current the cable will carry.WestonDave wrote: »Main import meter doing "naughty" things at the moment0 -

Funnily enough, although my meter is not the spinning disc type. I applied to E-On, who are my energy supplier and FIT benefactor to have a smart meter installed.
The answer I got from them was that the technology that they currently have on their ‘smart meters’, at the moment, cannot be used where a property has Solar PV installed.
How ‘Smart’ is that? :rotfl::)2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
