not good with the formulas etc to build one.
to record generation of solar, to measure against pvgis and also calculate expotrd and used and costings?
Hopefully it will give me some idea of if the system is running ok.
any hekp is appreciated as new to this just installed 4kwh system 16 x et 250 panels

Hi Gazza,
You should find it pretty simple to knock up a spreadsheet with only the SUM functions and basic arithmetic like +, -, * (multiply) etc.
Any template you used would probably need to be modified to satisfy your requirements, so you might as well start from scratch and learn a bit of Excel in the process. You don't even need to use Excel (or Open source equivalents), I use Google Docs for mine (mainly for access anywhere). My spreadsheet's way too complicated to genericise into a template I'm afraid, but someone may have a simpler version they are willing to share.
You shouldn't need a spreadsheet to work out if your system is working out effectively. If you have an iPod/iPhone/iPad then I'd recommend the Meters App by Graham Haley for logging & charting your readings, and then compare against the PVGIS prediction for your system, which you'll find a guide for doing so on the FAQ sticky thread in this sub-forum.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -

Gazza, on these threads always have a look at your PM's found at the top under Forum Search & Quick Links. :rotfl:2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.

Managed 694kWh yesterday.
Oh, I forgot to put the decimal point in.

Hi All
It's not just the pv which is suffering ... after all of the dull skies over the last week we needed to burn some more gas to inject some heat into the HW cylinder again early this morning .... looks like there could be a couple of decent days starting tomorrow, so probably only just missed out .... I wonder how much more insulation I can get on the cylinder & tank:cool:
