    Electricity 1385 kWh £177.05 (year 1) and 1061 kWh £161.35 (year 2)

It is difficult to measure the reduction but the year prior to Solar I used 2888 kWh of electricity but then I did have a backwards running meter for over a year and I also replaced a number of appliances including the fridge/freezer after the installation.

    My home heating is Gas.

Thanks GH. That is very interesting; your Elec. saving seems to be 1503kW in year 1 and 1827kW in year 2. Your supplier would seem to have been generous with their estimation Yr 1, but that contradicts Yr 2; when the meter was functioning correctly. In my case, the year prior to Solar I used 2513kW; currently todate used 1864kW. I have another 34 days of clocking up kW which might mean an extra 234kW (rough estimate) which takes me to 2098kW for the year end of Solar. 16.5% saving? If I have got my sums correct, which is rare..:rotfl:

Not sure I understand this posting ?. Are you suggesting that all retired folk should be exported to live in the tropics?

Not at all John, I am expressing my personal view, which was meant to be interpreted as - 'with the current FIT rates the amount of time required to get your capital back could, for some, be too long (bearing in mind, I may qualify for the some). In a nutshell, when I installed in November '11 if the FIT rate had been 18p per kWh, I would not have considered it. :rotfl:Pl. bear in mind, when I was 25 I lost a weeks wages on a horse, which, if not still running, is fertilizer at a local dog walking area. 1st and last gamble in my life; good lesson, well learnt :rotfl: .
I don't need my beenie hat today, even though it it looking like another 5.4 kWh day.
Back to business, 1.9 kWh today, count yourself lucky...:rotfl:

4kwh for us today, sadly I got all excited as I was in another city today (Coventry) where it was relatively sunny with a bit of nice wafer thin puffy cloud there... but when I got back to read the generation meter in darkness on my return it wasn't the same story over here in Nottingham!:o

I'm guessing that after the past month, my steep roof effect (45 degrees) is also probably on the wane by now...

0.75kWh my worst since installation on Valentines day (and I haven't even managed to win the booby prize.)

At noon (GMT) the panels were producing a massive 101 Watts.

The dampness has brought the mushrooms up - collected nearly 3Kg from the horse field over the road; so its not all bad. .

    hi

4.20 kWh yesterday. not bad compare to others. what you think oscargrouch
  • 4.8kWh yesterday & a hazy start to the day today. Just need 10kWh between now and tomorrow night to exceed the SAP annual estimate of 2951kWh by exactly 20%, which would also be 10.7% above PVGIS-Classic.
