Any room for a PV extension?
Mart.

Despite it being a volatile day from a pv generation perspective...
Achieved 10 kwh today, 145% ahead of elapsed target for October.
(83% of monthly estimated total gained so far with 12 more days to go)0 -
7.3 kWh today; grand total of 5p more than yesterday.:beer:2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.

Year 1
1331 kWh generated
£419.59 spent on gas and electricity
Year 2
1325 kWh generated
£421.03 spent on gas and electricity
So far so good but who knows how energy prices and inflation will pan out during the next two decades (or how the weather behaves).
Any info on what the split was Re: Gas & Leccy?
And what, if known, was the reduction in Leccy imported in year 1 compared to the year pre 'Solar installation' ? Finally, is home heating Gas or Elec. So many questions::D2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.

Not sure I understand this posting ?
Are you suggesting that all retired folk should be exported to live in the tropics?
That might be a cheaper way of cutting electricity demand and greenhouse gas emissions?
Amusing films about the difficulty the citizens of USA have "going native".

They don't seem to realise that living in a mountain moraine landscape means boulders in the clay and inefficient internal combustion engines!
Too many clouds for perfect PV generation?
I don't need my beenie hat today, even though it it looking like another 5.4 kWh day.0 -

It is difficult to measure the reduction but the year prior to Solar I used 2888 kWh of electricity but then I did have a backwards running meter for over a year and I also replaced a number of appliances including the fridge/freezer after the installation.Oscargrouch wrote: »Finally, is home heating Gas or Elec. Wow you're a very low user, especially electricity! I assume you must cook with Gas as well then?
We bagged a 10.4kWh yesterday to sail past 3520kWh since installation which is exactly 10% above our PVGIS-Classic annual estimate and we've with three more days until our anniversary.
We don't quite have a full year of electricity consumption prior to our installation to compare to, but we have a 10month period which we can extrapolate with some allowances for the fact that the 'missing' 2 months are late-Oct to Mid-Dec 2010.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -

Yes, I do cook with gas.
Four years ago, before I embarked on this money saving lark, my annual electricity usage was nearer 5000 kWh and gas just over 10,000 kWh.
Just goes to show what can be done.0 -
Hiya
0.52Kwh today. Constant rain!!!!
WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK!! Ha! Ha! Ha!
