Not really had a very good chance to look at shading, but during a slightly sunny day I have noticed some shading from the chimney during the morning. Unfortunately it is a shared one with the neighbors and removing it is not going to be possible. Will have to have another look on a good day when I am at home. defaultdriver

As you say have a good look when you are at home. I originally thought that it was just a shading issue with our chimney but then realised that it was partly the house to the right of us too. Plus some rather large trees shading our panels during the winter for good measures:mad:. So for us removing our chimney did not sort out all of our shading issues only some of it.

I must admit when I heard about the target estimates when I was new to the world of solar panels in 2012 I was confused as to which figures where the ones being used on this thread. Plus I also had a figure from my installers to go by. My point earlier was saying that if we all used the same it would be more fun for comparing each others systems. I think that most now use Climate SAF estimates as I believe they are the more up to date. I think some don't use SAF because they got their estimates before Climate SAF was introduced. Shame there is nothing on the PVGIS estimate site to allow for the shading issues we have. For that reason you and I and others on here will always be under our estimated target in the winter months and probably always play catch up in the summer.

When I first saw your target I just thought it was a little low for your system size hence the question. Sorry if I upset you in any way but certainly no offence was ever meant.:o

    Thought I wasn`t explaining myself.
But yes, I agree, it`s not a fair policy.

Shame you are not with EoN; they ask for a reading on the 31st March and one for whenever your FIT date falls on afterwards. Both readings are submitted via their on line accounts when your after April FIT is due (if you get what I mean)....:T
