Just a quick post to let everyone know that the April 2012 sunshine maps have just been added to the Met Anomaly site:

    http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/anomacts/

For me (S. Wales) it's in the 70 to 90% range which matches my generation being about 15% below PVGIS climate.

Edit: Fancy a laugh - check out the rainfall map, April even gets 2 extra colour bands, 250 to 300% and more than 300%!

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

Fascinating that Northern Ireland and north west England and Scotland got average or below average rainfall in April.

So miserable May so far for all, or just me?

Been getting a variety of 3's and 18's, need an average of 13, or rather, would like an average of 13!

Probably about 30 down already, but a few good looking days coming up.

Not very good here in the East Midlands; 0.46kWh so far..........:(
But running well at an output of 0.300 kW :(
    2.5 system, SSW.
2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

I'm also in the E Midlands (but obviously a different part !). When Oscargrouch posted his comment we'd just got up to 2Kwh on the day; now 3.6Kwh. Though it's been really frustrating - one peak of 2.6Kw, several others above 2Kw but also several 'troughs' below 400w. None of the peaks lasted long enough to switch any extra loads on.

We're running at about 30% below PVGIS so far this month : 21% of PVGIS target achieved and we're 29% of the way through the month.

But the grass is looking lovely and green and it will hopefully postpone any hosepipe ban in the South West.

Here in Sussex I'm at 14% of May PVGIS so not looking good at all.

Here in waterlogged Essex, with grass up to my ankles and a mower that would leave tram tracks in the mud, if I tried to use it, today's score is 7.01 kWh. Compares rather well with 2.76 kWh last Sunday.

3.6 nominal kW inverter facing SE on 30 degree slope.

    Total for day 11.8 Kwh.

I'm not too bothered about trying to follow pvgis predictions; my aim is to generate 3Kwh (or preferably more !) every day to break even with leaving cash in an ISA. Very few days (even in winter) when we've failed.
