I need to generate 38kWh tomorrow to reach the total April estimate. :rotfl:
Like you, I'm an optimist too. To hit PVGIS climate I just need 55kWh's today. Been a slow start, only 2 so far, but fingers crossed!
I bet the comparisons year on year for those that enjoyed the freakish April of 11 will be interesting.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Well the sun has made a rare occurance today on this side of the Bristol channel so hopefully you are seeing some in S. Wales too. Currently at PVGIS+7% so hopefully will make +8/9% by the end of the day.
I did a quick calculation of our generation vs PVGIS estimate since installation (end Oct 2011) and we're at +23%. Roll on summer.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -

Mart.
In my case I have seen 25% less generation this April when compared to 2011.0 -

Unclear whether it was the wettest month (headline) or wettest April (article) but if I can exceed PVGIS in a month like that, there must be hope! Today has been a cracker and, despite some cloud, has comfortably exceeded my all-time record.2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0 -
Total Generation: 377.9kWh (102.3kWh/kWp)
PVGIS Estimate: 347kWh (93.8kWh/kWp)
Performance vs PVGIS Estimate: +9%
Best Day: 22.4kWh (6.1kWh/kWp) (10th)
Worst Day: 1.4kWh (0.4kWh/kWp) (29th)
30 Day moving average: 12.6kWh/day (3.4kWh/kWp/day)
Performance vs PVGIS Estimate since installation: +23.6%
Forecast for rest of this week: rubbish! It is a Bank Holiday weekend coming up so rain is highly likely then as well.
Will be interesting to see the Met Office's 'Anomaly' stats about April sun hours when they are published.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -

What the PV giveth (in March), the PV can taketh away (in April)!

Hi, just found this thread. The vagaries of the British weather led to us having our best day so far on 30 April at 20.17 kWh and then the worst ever on the next day at 2.75 kWh!
Now, bring back the sun.....

April 2011 - 318kWh generated, 147% of prediction/target :j
April 2012 - 229kWh generated, 106% of prediction/target
Quite surprised to have hit target last month, I think it was mainly due to a handful of great days (:T)amongst all the dreadful ones (:().2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

Maybe, but before that it will be coldest May for 100 years, it says so in the Express (whose front page story is almost invariably about the weather and almost invariably wrong), so it must be true.

Frankly I don't care whether it's cold as long as it's sunny
