The late lunge for the line in sunny Cardiff continues. We got exactly the same yesterday as the day before, 22.9kWh or 4.1 Os.

Have moved from 8 behind target, to just 3 behind. Today's target is 18, so will need 21+ to go positive in July. Forecast is a stunner, so should be fine.

However, the full story is more interesting (to addicts like me), whilst I hope for 100% overall, the ESE will be 94% and the WNW 110%, so weather this July has been significantly better in the afternoons than the mornings.

In fact, this will be the third month in a row where the kWh/kWp from the WNW are higher than from the ESE, which shouldn't really happen. Strange weather!

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

In spite of all around me complaining of poor weather - and indeed that would have been my own view if I hadn't seen the figures ! - I'm already comfortably ahead of the pvgis prediction for July and looking out of window am pretty confident of a good day today.

I suspect that the answer lies in there having been quite a bit of cloud around this month even on reasonably bright days. The shallow angle of our panels means that they'll benefit more from bright clouds than would steeper ones.

If the same is true for Cardiff, then clouds to the North ought to be reflecting more brightness than clouds to the South would allow sunshine to filter through them.

As forecast (by me this morning :D ) today was indeed a good day and brought month up to 515kWh (or 18% above pvgis)

Watch this space : I should have four full years results to report in a couple of weeks time.
