Renewables: "talking 'bout my generation"

The missus is suitably clued up on the usage scenario and is keen to use everything in the day. She has taken to watching the meter quite well and seems to be keener than me to use our lecy! Hope she keeps it up.
When she switches something on she runs outside to the lecy cabinet to see if the LED is on or off. If on, she is happy (exporting), if its off, she waits for a burst of sunlight. (Is this excessive behaviour?).

I once commented on the fact that Wifey likes to play the 'red light game' in the kitchen ...... and got some dubious responses from posters!
The solid red is visible in the kitchen, and can be fun seeing what devices can be switched on at lunch time, especially if the washing machine or dishwasher are already running. Quite addictive.
Got 21kWh's yesterday, 3.76 Os. Not bad considering the cement mixer was in the driveway for most of the day taunting the gods of rain and drizzle.
I did tell my mate that he couldn't switch the mixer on till the dishwasher had finished, but his "are you taking the ......" facial expression suggested he hadn't found my joke funny.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.0 -

Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.0 -
