Not the great day it originally promised to be today.

The Sun vanished when I put the washing machine, the tumble dryer and then the dishwasher on - without fail!

In between the 3 periods of cloud I've managed a Hawaii, so not all bad!

It's been cold today (started with a frost and only reached a high of 12C), so I've managed to use a lot of the production keeping warm - always handy!

    5.43 O's (21.3 kWh)

Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).

A Maiden in the bag! Could I hope hope for a 7?

    Still chucking out 2.84 kW

The day went downhill very quickly after I posted this as clouds came along to spoil the part for a good hour. Not as good as I wanted. Ended on (27.81 kWh) which equates to a Maiden + 0.996
Today was my best day since 060614 2nd best ever. Also back to back maidens.

Amazed how good the day was as we had been forecast rain like yesterday!

    Well.
Yeah I know, a big hole with water in it!

With the cold bright start I knew the morning would be good, but cloud coming over this afternoon I thought we'd lose a bit.

I get home at 18.25, and do a double take at the Geo in the kitchen.
I then check the gen meter and get on with making dinner.

    I'm all excited!!!!!!!!
    My first ever Maiden.
    24.41kWh or in real money, a maiden + .41.

    That'll do pig, that'll do.
4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.

    Thank you, I appreciate that.

After a bit of Googling I decided a new A rated appliance was in order!

Hi Andy, I had similsr problems last week. I can recommend -

Free, fast delivery, big drum, A++ efficiency. There`s even a page in the manual that states exactly what each and every cycle (and there`s a few) uses in terms of kWh!
3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun

Thanks for the recommendation. I decided on a Hoover last night though - and commited the cardinal sin and chose a washer dryer...I have my reasons, both of my machines needed replacement with the washing machine being dead and the dryer on it's last legs for months now. All the reviews (4.7/5 stars) say how much better the modern washer dryers are - the downside being water consumption for the condensing on the dryer, but as I have a rainwater harvesting system, that's no big deal for me.

I'm a household of 1, so the machine is used 2 or 3 times a week maximum usually. If I was a bigger household I'd be looking at larger, seperate machines and for efficiency as high as possible.
