When you finished your application did it say - application accepted and then give you your apr and credit limit? If so then this is your full credit limit, not your credit limit after your balance transfer. If so then the maximum amount transferred is £1800. HTH0

Yes it did - it said my credit limit was £2000. Damn - I thought that would be my purchases limit. Fiddlesticks!!!
How did you figure out the maximum transfer is £1800?
Maybe I should try and get another balance transfer card also?
I have the money in my savings, I just want to prolong their access / availability so I can save up more as I'm paying things off, rather than saving for ages before being able to buy or pay for things? Ugh!0 -
The maximum transfer is 90% of your credit limit. Might be worthwhile to try another creation, they've been really good to me- I've got 3 cards with them and they've recently given me a 4th card. It might come up at the end as referred and wait 7-10 days for a decision but wait an hour or two and give them a call and usually they can get it accepted.0

Ah! Right - I see. Well I COULD pay the £1200 off with my savings, but prefer if I could get it onto another card and keep it in my isa, use for spends.
Do you think I should wait before I apply for another one?
I think I made an error at the beginning really - I thought that getting a balance and purchases card, would just accept all my debt. I never thought that they might only accept some of it. That being the case in my applications I could have stated a smaller balance transfer amount - perhaps half of my original £3k?
Tell ya what - it's a complex business sorting these cc's out!!0 -
Congrats OP! Shame about the £1800 left over though but at least you got a card.
I applied for the creation based on the advice on this thread and was rejected.
A few weeks ago I applied for the Tesco 0% and was rejected.
A month prior to that, my credit limit on an existing card was increased by 38% (a card I don't spend on).
I'm guessing that means 3 credit searches in the past couple of months and I can't apply for credit within the next 6 months! Quite an inconvenience.
Sorry you didn't quite have the same luck as meWhy can't you apply for credit within the next 6months? How do you know that? If I had some spare cash mate - I'd lend ya it!
