My wireless router got unplugged and moved yesterday. Since plugging it back in the internet and phone haven't worked.
After lots of jiggery pokerty i can get the phone to work if i unplug the DSL cable from the router and the filter. The internet doesn't work no matter what i do.
I've phoned talktalk and they said they'd send an engineer round but it will cost mega bucks.
I've unplugged and reset countless times. Please can anyone help me.

Can you access the settings page of your router via your laptop/PC?0

Yes i should be able to.0

TalkTalk would send a Qube engineer round,who are useless & do not have the knowledge to fix phone faults.
When you say the router was 'moved' what do you mean?..was it moved to a different phone socket or did you use a longer DSL cable to connect up?..0 -
It was unplugged and plugged back in to the same place with all the same wires.0

Last time i had internet problems It took me 2 weeks before i managed to speak to someone who actually knew what they were talking about.0

Might sound daft but do you have any splitters plugged into the phone socket for Sky?..
If so,then are they plugged into the Microfilter & not the Microfilter plugged into them?...
Should be;

No spliters, the sky isn't plugged in. It's the phone line, microfilter then the phone and the dsl go from that.0

OK,Is it one of these sockets;

If so,unscrew the bottom half of the socket.On the right you'll see a test socket;
Plug the phone in there without the filter or broadband...do you have dial tone?..if so,refit the microfilter & check for dialtone?...if you still have dialtone,reconnect the broadband & try again.if you still have dialtone,try the internet.
If that works,then replace the faceplate.If it now doesn't work,then the faceplates faulty.0 -
We tried that last night. The phone works plugged directly into the faceplate. It works with the microfilter too but as soon as i plug the dsl cable into the microfilter it stops working.0
