I've just got my two's flea and worming stuff from Animed Direct, as per a recommendation on here. Ordered on the 12th, received it today so not bad (one was a prescription product too)

Thanks, It is the price that Im looking at,Will check those out. I have used animeddirect before.

TBH I find that the prices vary hugely - even within the same company - so one time it can be cheaper at x and the next time y (which is a pain in the what not if you've sent them a multi-order prescription)

Of all of them, I've found Viovet to have consistently competitive prices and excellent delivery/customer service.

Another option is to find out the generic name for the ingredient of Metacam, that can sometimes be cheaper.

Meloxicam. But it is illegal for any pharmacist to dispense anything other than that written on the prescription. If the prescription says "Metacam", then that is what should be dispensed. As a vet I would be pretty annoyed if someone kept changing the brand they wanted every time. Find a brand that your pet responds well to and stick to it

I think you will find that VetUK may be a £1 or so cheaper.
Excellent service with them too.

Could a vet not write "Meloxicam" and the pharmacy dispense any generic meloxicam tablets? I've no idea how the system works, was just offering it as a possible idea to look into.

I've only just started buying it online, but I used
Vet UK and will use them again. I've bought dog food in bulk from them too and found Vet UK very good.

A prescription cost £7.50 from my vets (covered 3 months).

They could but I still wouldn't keep swapping brands around.
