hello all...
was just wondering does the wireless router dictate what speed i would be able to download files etc.... ie, if i signed up for 8 meg bb but had a average wireless router would this affect my download speed???

Even a 'b' wireless router is 11meg so should not affect your 8meg BB, however you would be better with a 'g' router (54meg) as signal strength may reduce the actual through put.0

you would notice a difference in speed during online gaming but otherwise nothing unless you get a really weak signalEx forum ambassador

thanks... is there a specific brand to be weary of?? ive been looking at the netgear belkin and linksys....or does it not matter....i only need it to download music really.?0

I had a linksys wag 54. Had so many problems with poor connection and poor signal, that I had to abandon it. Have a Belkin now, and no problems.
It is worth doing a google search for problems before you buy. I wish I had, I'd never have bought the LinksysI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
i have a netgear dg834g, it has been perfect since i have had it. no major problems like poor signal, dropouts etc0
