help with wireless router question

hello all...
was just wondering does the wireless router dictate what speed i would be able to download files etc.... ie, if i signed up for 8 meg bb but had a average wireless router would this affect my download speed??? thanks

Comments

  • Even a 'b' wireless router is 11meg so should not affect your 8meg BB, however you would be better with a 'g' router (54meg) as signal strength may reduce the actual through put.

you would notice a difference in speed during online gaming but otherwise nothing unless you get a really weak signal

I had a linksys wag 54. Had so many problems with poor connection and poor signal, that I had to abandon it. Have a Belkin now, and no problems.

It is worth doing a google search for problems before you buy. I wish I had, I'd never have bought the Linksys
