    Every review you read will have some form of criticism about a tv, they're calibrating them and using them in test conditions. Unless you pay someone to come to your living room and calibrate it to those conditions (specific to that TV, and that room) you won't notice the stuff you're talking about.
    Since you're going to Comet, why not try to have a listen to the set whilst it's switched on. A white image will make more noise, I'd imagine you won't even hear it in a shop environment.

    Yeah, as a rule they put superior image processing in the 3D sets. It's like refusing to buy a luxury car because it's perfect for you in every way, but you're never going to drive at 170mph, so let's forget the whole thing and buy a reliant robin instead.

    we have this Panasonic Plasma TXP42S30 42", it is pretty good, was not that expensive, we are really satisfied.
