I have this mobile phone, just to really use it for calls and texts, i sometimes search f/b on it at work.
I pay tesco £10 a month for 500 mins, 3000 texts and 500mb of data, which i'm happy with.
I go away on saturday and i don't want to be charged for roaming whilst i'm away, i called into tesco and the lad told me on the side button where i switch the phone off i just click on data network mode, this will switch it on and off.
And if i want to use free wi-fi on holiday i just have to log on and input the hotels password,
next i have a few apps, on my phone, tripadvisor and easyjet are 2 that i need to use whilst i'm away, will i be charged for using this, or are apps free to use whilst abroad
thanks

If apps use mobile data and data roaming is switched off, you will be able to use them on wifi only. You will not be charged for this, but not all hotels have free wifi.0
