Peps

In 1994 my wife and I set up a PEP and invested £6000 each following my early retirement. This was with, what is known now as, Invesco Perpetual. At close today the total value of the 2 investments is £50,398.21. Since August 2004 the PEPS have increased in value by £4000. My question is should we continue to leave well alone or move some of the money to another place. I would point out that I am 67 but still working and in receipt of a Company pension as well as my state pension. My wife will be 60 in April but she too will continue to work.
Any advice would be apreciated.

Dave

Why move the PEP to somewhere else? Its tax free and you could face charges on re-investment.
I am going to assume that you don't mean the PEP but mean the investment inside the PEP. By all means, switch funds to suite you current goals and investment risk profile but you do not need to remove the funds from the PEP to do that.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thank you for the reply. I was only considering whether I should take out some of the money and invest elsewhere. It was just a nagging thought that if the Company went into liquidation I would have lost everything.
The start of the year profit wise things were great but recently there have been exceptionally wide swings in the value.
Anyway thanks for the advice.

You own the units in the fund, not Invesco Perpetual. The just manage it.
The PEP is just the tax free wrapper, if you want a change of funds, then alter those. If you want a change of managers, switch the fund to a funds supermarket (which can done free of charge) and spread it over multiple funds/managers.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
