You can join a credit union - it will teach you good habits and after you have been saving with them for a while they will lend you a small amount and see if you behave yourself. If so they will lend you a bit more.

And what "If" the guy was a loner and had no family and friends. HE took major illness and was in a coma for months so no one knew about bills. Would that also be their fault? You guys are first to jump down someones throat without knowing solid facts......

OK, yeah, that would possibly be a valid excuse......

    However.......

I think you'll find that most people with credit/debt issues as severe as the OP implies would be extremely quick off the mark to point out such unfortunate circumstances if that was the reason they were in such a mess, to possibly save themselves from getting the sterner type of advice.

We (well.... me certainly) are only human, and I would maybe show a bit more compassion for someone who has suffered serious hardship likened to that you mention.

Don't think that is the case here though.......

Which would be tragic but still irrelevant as it would make no difference at all to lenders and he still wouldn't be able to get a loan at any sort of reasonable rates. I doubt many people are blaming the OP - there are all sorts of reasons why people get into debt. Maybe a partner with an addiction cleared out his account? But it doesn't change the fact that banks won't see him as a good risk.

The advice about credit unions is the only sensible suggestion we can offer other than the suggestion that the OP looks at the Debt Free Wannabee board for budgeting help.
  • yep harsh but true loans dont help, unless its from avery understanding friend i had to use my little sugar daddy to lend me some money, cause me gear box has gone wrong he has given me till end of april to pay back 300 quid which makes very lucky.
for his pains he has made me join a credit union which i have had conformation of. so looking to saving and getting what i want when money is there and not the need it now syndrome.
loans dont solve problums they usually create them

I don't understand how this would affect the outcome. No one has been nasty.
Lenders don't care about people's situation or how and why they have bad credit.

People have given advice stating they would be unable to get credit apart from small payday type loans or doorstep lenders. These will be very high interest and if already having financial issues is not a good idea.

The OP needs to explain what the money is for and then we could give further advice on maybe getting it cheaper or alternatives. If the loan is to pay bills, then they need to post an SOA and definitely should not borrow from a payday loan. As if they can't pay bills this month, they are going to be in even more trouble at the end of the month when they have to pay bills AND the payday loan.

I don't think the OP will post again. None of you told him what he wanted to hear, none of you massaged his ego or gave him lots of virtual cuddles. Some people react to the truth in a very negative way.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
