can anyone tell how much i can pay into my bank at anyone time in bagged coins? I bagged up a considerable sum and I normally use it to buy currency for holidays ( the woman in the post office is never pleased to see me!).
i need to put it in my bank account (lloyds) don't want to lug all the bags and find that i can only pay in a small amount each time.

Nationwide allow 5 bags per day but there are different rules for childrens accounts. This was on a sticker on the window at the counter.
Can't help on what Lloyds rules are but it is likely to be similar.Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
I've taken at least 15 bags in at a time with no problems ..... (Barclays)
They don;t seem to like it if you want to swap for notes, but paying into an account is ok. The ex-building societies are worse than the clearing banks for some reason.0 -
As above - I've never had a problem with paying loads into Barclays0

I've paid in several hundred in coins at Natwest before, and will do so at Lloyd's in the summer (PTA fairs). It's never been a problem.
I'm not a personal customer of Natwest but it's the closest bank to my house; I change up my personal shrapnel every few months and it's never been remarked upon. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
i think with building societies it is 5 per day but with banks there is no restrictions.£27.76/£2018 in 20180

I've never had a problem at Barclays. Just as well, as the day they complain about me depositing my money in my account is the day I close it.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

my Lloyds branch absolutely hate you changing coins and will refuse even small amounts if they feel like it. I just pay it into my account instead - and then nip outside to the cashpoint and take it out again! or I go the coinstar route and accept that I have to pay them commission on it! only if its a really large amount and I know that the beetch in the bank is going to make me feel two inches high! she once said to me 'Been raiding the kids piggy banks have we'? No wonder they are behind bullet proof screens!0

some banks like hsbc have machines like coinstar but no charge and money goes straight into your account. So keep an eye out for these to save losing money on the commission.:beer:Member of Mortgage free in three. :beer:55. littlemonkeywolf. Reduce my mortgage0

Hmm. I am about to take a staggariong amount in to lloyds soon. I was horrified to count out 103 quid from change the other weekend.....dh's from london, here i take any coins and use them.
I hope they Ask me Something equally patronising.....i will nod and then lety them count it.
Incidentally, i once had to make a very large cash transfer from my account to a solitors in a day at lloyds. It was pre arranged and when i got there...i went to london to do it at a city branch where the payee's acct was as lloyds felt it would be simpler....they told me it could not be done and if it was, there would be a charge.
I smiled and said right, i'll take the (six figure number )in cash, small notes is fine......where are the paying in slips please?
As soon as they realised i would make them count it twice rather than click a button on the computer they were perfectly happy to do the transfer, gratis and immeadiately:D0 -
There's not a limit on the amount of coins you can pay in at Lloyds, if the branch isn't too busy and the coins are correctly bagged.0
