Indian channels on Freesat+ box

Hi,
I've a twin feed installed in my bedroom. I used to watch FTA with a sky digibox before (only 1 feed was being used). I wanted to get recording facility but it was not possible unless I paid SKY.
So I got myself a Bush 250GB freesat+ box. The box is working fine but there are hardly any Indian channels compared to FTA with Sky digibox?
The only ones I get are B4UMusic, Zing and UMP movies. Why is that? I thought the list of channels is same between the 2 but freesat+ has got EPG as well as PVR which is not possible without subscription with a SKY digibox.
Kindly advise. Thanks.

Any other channels you're talking about have paid Sky to be on their EPG, but haven't paid Freesat to be on theirs.
The good news is you can still receive them, but with just a now and next function rather than a full EPG. You need to go into non-freesat mode (check your manual) and do a scan. You'll get STACKS of channels, and in amongst them, as long as they're not encrypted, you'll hopefully be able to find the channels you're missing. You may have a favourites list or something you can save them in to save time.0 -
Not so easy with some Bush's they don't all have an autoscan in non freesat like Humaxs etc.. you need to add channels manually as per sky stbs.
Goto the non freesat menu:
menu
settings
show non freesat channels
add non freesat channels
And see if you have an auto option, if not post back here what channels you are after and someone will find you the details you are required to enter in the manual mode.0 -
The channel list is similar, but not identical-they are different platforms. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

How do u do this on the echostar freesat box?0

Atlantis - you need to find non-freesat mode in the menus on your box, possible under tuning or other - fastest way for your specific box is to read the manual...0

LOOK DOWN THIS LIST Many can be added in non freesat mode to freesat....HD Need a HD Box etc
http://en.kingofsat.net/freqs.php?&pos=28.2E&standard=All&ordre=freq&filtre=Clear
example UMP Movies
Eutelsat 28A 11661.54 = (11.661) H 27500 2/3
11.661 H 27.500 2/3 Will add UMP Movies to freesat
if i remember some box's dont need the 2/3 info
you can add lots of free TV Channels to Freesat = International/foreign. Radio. Sky news / Travel channel and more0 -
vale46, this list was very helpful. Thanks.
One question: with "UMP movies example", if I add 11.661 H 27.500 2/3, will it add the rest of 8 channels as well that are listed along with UMP movies in that section?0 -

yes the others will be picked up / added
then with the Bush box i'm not sure if you will have the option
to save/store each channel individually like you can with a sky box0
