Just moved into a house back end of last year. Been sorting the garden out over the weekend and seems we have a load of frogs!!

i kinda liked it at first but now every few hours one of our cats has one of them and is toying with them. Ive managed to stop them each time but im sure its only a matter of time before they kill some of them.

Not really sure what to do. Have to let the cats out but like the frogs!!

Should i try and collect them up and put them elsewhere?

You will not stop frogs entering your garden short of errecting one of those plastic barriers that are used for reptile containment and surveys. Cats by their very nature seem to go after anything that moves so it will be difficult or even impossible to stop them playing with the frogs .the only possibility I can think of is to find a toad for the cat to play with and hope the toads defence mechanism give you moggy such a shock that it thinks that toads and frogs are the same thing and leaves them all alone.:D

A friend made me a small pond complete with frogspawn in March.

It's been a source of real fascination watching the tadpoles grow, and now I have lots of teeny frogs in my lawn, so thanks for the strimming advice.

I just hope I don't end up getting involved in their love lives like Dave!

What do other people feed their tadpoles on? I make icecubes of boiled chopped lettuce, which they seem to love.

What happens to the pond when they all become frogs?
