Voice recognition software

Does anyone use voice recognition software for typing? I understand Windows 7 has it built in, but will this work with a Word processor, such as word starter, open-office or even notepad?

I was thinking of using it when typing a lot.

If the price is the same for a download or a disc, may as well get the disc if it is a large file

Yes the current best is Dragon Naturally speaking and some, if not all versions, come with a headset.

I guess the other advantage of this software is that it may help your public speaking abilities, in terms of both sound quality and just what to say?
