I think you will find that the top of the range policy for an i phone 6 is £74.99 anyway, cheaper the monthly premium you mention. I'm just about to renew. Good luck.0

www.cover4students.com
For Students - £87 but it includes lost/stolen/damaged anywhere in Uk, £2000 personal possessions and specified laptop, ipad etc. As I paid £56 last year with protect my bubble for her Iphone this one policy from cover4students is most cost effective. Plus the excess is £10~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Re: mobile phone insurance cover from Mobile Phones Direct ... don't buy it!!
My recent experience was not a good one ... the insurance cover cost around £15 a month for my iphone 6. I had a cracked screen and contacted their insurers Citymain. They asked me for a payment of £75 and then to post the phone by registered post to their offices in Portsmouth. They refused to send a replacement. I was without my phone for 9 days!
A colleague had a similar experience at the same time i.e. a cracked screen on their iphone, which was insured by Orange at around £5 a month. On contacting their insurers, they were asked for a payment of £25 and they received a replacement iphone by courier within 24 hours!
Needless to say I have cancelled ny insurance with Citymain.0 -
Hi all,
We are building Hello Emma - a free app to ask emma to do any insurance related stuff for you - and by registering you get free mobile insurance.
We are backed by one of the largest UK insurer and finance the free phone insurance following a similar model as spotify (where some customers pay to have a premium product with more cover).
We are not writing for marketing reason but rather to have your feedback on whether such a product would be appealing to you - (1 - the free mobile insurance and 2: a mobile "chat" to ask emma to do all your insurance work for you).
Thanks in advance for your help

Hi ROmain,
I would be interested in this type of insurance, espeically if it's free?!! Can you give a few more details and when it would be ready please? Also, is the insurer a household name? I am alwasy worried about these type of things. And what would be the paid option? And do I have to have a particular handset to make this app works? I have iPhone 4s- will that be ok?
thanks

Any ideas?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

I cracked the screen on my iPhone, I made a claim through the Halifax and sent my phone special delivery on the 2nd Sept 2013 and the claim form the same day.
The parcel was received and signed for on the 3rd Sept 2013.
On the 10th Sept the excess payment was taken from my account.
i called them on the 13th for an update and was told there was no record of my handset on the system, was told to call back on Monday 16th which i did and was told that they were trying to trace my handset and would have a response by Tuesday 17th.
When i called yesterday, they are now claiming that it was not an iphone which i sent to them.
I believe that my handset has been lost at the repair centre and they are trying to cover it up.
Can anyone help please.
My experience has been that I needed to make a claim for HTC One M8. I pay £120 per year for my Nationwide Flexplus account which bundles in Lifestyle mobile phone insurance for all the family. However, there is also an excess fee of £25 for my android phone (£50 for apple iPhones).
£25 excess was paid on 15 April 2016. Two problems - main one was a severely cracked screen after dropping it; and second was a slightly faulty charging port. It came back to me on 27 April 2016 (eight working days) and while the screen looked lovely again, now the phone accepts NO charge - charging port looks new but probably hasn't been soldered on correctly. I took it to a phone shop and that's what they told me.
I called n/wide who were pretty unapologetic and told me the best they would do would be send a SAE so I could send it back. They'd 'aim' to have it back to me within a few working days. I reluctantly agreed.
I have now spent five working days trying to chase with nationwide where this SAE is as the dud phone is still in my possession. I go away shortly and I am very nervous phone won't be ready in time.
After a lot of chasing and a derisory offer from them of £10 good faith gesture, I held out for £25; the full cost of my excess. She said, 'I can't approve that would you like to speak with my manager'. I said yes please. After about another 7 minute period of time on hold, I was simply told 'my manager has said we can do £25 in this case. It will process within 5 working days as it needs to clear from our finance department.' I said ok.
They have also arranged for courier to collect tomorrow and 'rapid-repair' where they'll repair within one day rather than three-to-five days and then they will courier it back to me hopefully in order to get this back by the time I leave the country.
Not impressed with them, but they do seem a lot better than Go Insure who I had to claim with previously and that took similarly as long and their customer service was literally terrible.
If I could afford it I'd go with EE's insurance with next day replacement but they want to charge £120 per annum plus a £75 excess so you definitely pay for the value added.0 -
Had a call from American Express introducing their My Essential policy which basically covers ANY gadgets (smartphones, laptops), possessions (jewelries, watches), luggages, your house and car keys for the ENTIRE FAMILY MEMBERS in cases of lost, stolen and ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE for £12.99 a month. What makes this policy extra special is that it has ZERO excess. In my opinion, compared to Nationwide FlexPlus of £120 this is a fantastic policy, without having to open an account with them. I thanked the agent and said I am not looking for one but promised her to share this deal to the world, hoping someone may find it useful. This is an over the phone policy; whose number can be found on the weblink.
link doesn't work, think they don't offer this online at least.0 -
Protect your bubble are useless and seeking every which way to avoid paying me out on a handset or offering a replacement against a stolen one, Have done everything they asked yet it is like getting blood from a stone.0
