Protect Your Bubble.
I am having current problems getting them to replace my phone. Its now been 3 weeks and everytime I provide them with proof of this or proof of that they put more obstacles in the way or hoops I have to jump through.
I will be cancelling as soon as/IF I have my replacement. A complete and utter bunch of cowboys. AVOID AVOID0 -
You can try gadget-cover or talkcover apparently they insure phones up to 18month old.0

Bought some insurance about a month ago for my niece's iPhone. Now they inform me (out of the blue) by email that it won't apply to under 16s.
I'm a bit shocked.0 -
Why warranties at https://www.mobilewarranties.com offer cover for phones that are 12 months old and their starting prices are cheaper.0

In what sense is it your niece's phone? Just because she uses it surely someone over 18 must have taken the contract out?
The Nationwide FlexPlus insurance doesn't care who uses it, it is the account holder who bought it that is the insured. If you choose to lend it continuously to your niece that is up to you.0 -
I've just made a claim on my insurance (Virgin/asurion). I paid the £70 excess and returned my phone in the freepost envelope they provided. They are now saying they haven't received it and I owe £80. Is it worth fighting? I don't have proof of posting.0

Yes, I'd say it is. So long as you used their recommended method of returning the phone (and they didn't ask you to get proof of posting).
A friend of mine had this recently where the phone was sent and it got "lost" a couple of weeks later, with the insurer claiming it had never arrived (this seems to happen a lot!). She argued that because they had accepted her claim and asked her to pay the excess, then they had in effect admitted they had received it, a contract had been created, and hence they should pay up. They did.
I reckon some unscrupulous insurers just try this on to get rid of a few claims - they know that not everyone will pursue it. It's the Ryanair style "let's make it as difficult as possible to claim" methodology I'm afraid.0 -
My daughter had an insurance police with the above firm. Her phone was stolen and they sent her a cheque. She was told to phone with a new IMIE number to cover her new phone.Excellent service, or so I thought. She decided to use my old phone didn't contact the above as the phone was not worth insuring and bought a pay as you go SIM, which she used for well over a year.
She then got another contract phone from the same phone provider and took out insurance as recommended by the provider. The above insurer then contacted her to say 'you have two policies running for mobile phones', again good customer service. They cancelled one. Trouble is the company are refusing to refund her premiums, which they continued to collect even although her phone was no longer in her possession.
If a car is stolen, the policy pays out but the insurance company won't continue to collect payments, unless of course you re-insure another car with that company.
I have complained to the company who say that as my daughter did not actually utter the words 'I wish you to cancel my policy', in their view they still insured her non-existent phone. They have told me that they have actually paid out in the past on thousand pound phones, that were not registered following a theft of the original insured phone. I am a little sceptical that this has ever happened. I will be writing to the company and the Ombudsman, but wondered if anybody has had the same difficulty and/or resolution?
Many thanks

Hi John
I'm afraid I don't have any experience to share on your situation except to say that you should definitely pursue it. Sounds most frustrating though!!! I certainly would feel like ranting, but my sister has a good way of dealing with it, laugh at them. Honestly, if they could hear themselves actually saying it..... Good luck! Hope someone can help x0
