clip to unlock LG U880 mobile?

I have beed kindly given a new to me LG U880 phone, and would like to unlock it from the network 3.

I have searched the threads here (and thanks for helping me to unlock the Nokia) and can not find a code to unlock my U880, and have trawled the site, and internet and I think I need to buy a clip or cable or something.

Where Do I get one from and how do I do it. I know a lot of you ask for the location So will let you know I live near Poole in Dorset.

I will be happy to help others out with my knowledge when I have aquired it.

I dont know how to unlock it, I suspect it wont be an easy as a Nokia, but there are two of us would like to know now as I got one too.:rolleyes:

There isn't or won't be any cheap clips to unlock this phone, only professional units.

There is a temporary unlock available by flashing the phone, but if you switch your phone off it resets the lock and you have to do it again.

I haven't tried this, as I don't usually get asked for LG phone unlocking and I accept no responsibility if anyone decides to use the software.

ive just down loaded the above and done my 2 lg u880 without a problem tried both with a virgin sim and works perfect, if the battery is removed or complete power is lost to the phone u just need to pop this simple code in again,142358#*# ive wrote this code under the battery as a reminder if i lose power and need the code but after u done it a few times you done forget very easy thanks all above for the links ect.

I found a file described as an LG U880 Unlocking utility at http://www.torrentspy.com/torrent/892648/LG_u880_UNLOCK_zip.

Big caveat here in that I've not tried it so don't know the health of the torrent or reliability of the software.

down load the above software, all instructions are included in a text file, follow below instructions and it does take about 20 minutes to unlock just let the software do its stuff and wait until the complete comes up and thats it.

heres what it says

ow run Setup.exe to install the Windows USB driver for LG U880 if you haven't done so already or from
the CD.

Plug in your phone with NO SIM to the computer and when your computer detects it open "LGMDP_H3G.exe" and
select your u880.

Click browse next to the option and select these files:

AMSS MODEM IMAGE: U880-CODE-MUSEDR-V10b-Feb-08-2006-H3G-IT.bin
MEDIA IMAGE: U880-MEDIA-V10b_wm-FEB-08-2006-H3G-UK.bin
MODULE IMAGE: U880-MODULE-V10b_final_unlock_kller_4_all_unlock.bin

Ok now sit your phone down and hit start.. Take around 10 - 15 minutes when it has restarted a few times
and it sayd "Download Complete" or "Download Done" unplug the USB cable from your phone and take
off the battery. Put in a 2G sim like an O2-UK one as I tested this with.

When it comes up it says "USIM LOCKED". Press this on the keypad (nothing will show on screen).

142358#*# if done right your phone will restart and you will be show the operator at the bottom (O2-UK for example).

(Yes 3G works with no code just enter the code again with a 2G sim when you turn your phone back on
and bingo )

in the rar download file there are the 3 files unrar them to your c drive dont put in a folder just dirrect onto you c drive then try browsing for them.
