It's my niece's birthday today. 5 years old - how on earth did that happen?? She has a party at 11am (which I am helping out at) and then I think she wants to go on some rides at the funfair next door (weather permitting).
My mum is then off on holiday tomorrow with my auntie. They are going to Jersey, so fingers crossed for some good weather for them. I'm driving them to the airport at 6.30 in the morning .
OH is driving me mad. In one breath he is saying he only has £40 to last him a fortnight and in the next breath he is saying he wants to buy a pair of shoes he has seen. :wall:. I officially give up. I told him as long as he pays his half of the rent and bills, then he can do what he likes - he just can't come running to me when he has no money.
I think his parents are partly to blame. They are constantly bailing him out. I know I owe my mum some money (which was originally lent to me for flat deposits I think), but he literally owes them tens of thousands.
Anyway, better get cracking - I've got a party to go to.

Happy Birthday to your niece, I hope the party goes well.
I know what you mean about your OH, mine is so funny he is now unemployed (because of the move) but wants to now buy another game console! I am tempted to say I'll buy it for him when he gets a job.....a good incentive maybe?0 -

Hmm, depends which one he wants I guess. Some are cheaper than others. Maybe say you will contribute towards it when he gets a job.
My OH earns £42k a year, so can't understand why he is in such a mess. Oh wait, yes I can, he spends all of his money on holidays (with his mates), his car and other rubbish.

My niece's party is over. Surprising how much a bunch of kids can tire you out. Now she is opening her presents at my mum's flat.
Claimed another £5 voucher before I left this morning too.

Or maybe he just can't budget! Then wonders why he is broke! My OH is not very self motivated so if I give him an incentive then hopefully it will get him moving!0 -

Well my mum is off on her holidays. I'm knackered now though. Didn't sleep very well last night - early night for me tonight.
Won £1.04 on JPJ this morning.

Looks like a lovely sunny day out there
. I hope it's sunny in Jersey too (my mum got there okay BTW).
It's my dad's birthday today - he would have been 67 years old. My sister and I are going to his grave this afternoon to put some flowers down. I think he has caused this nice weather :A.
Still no word on my new car. The front tyres on my current car are getting quite bald (not illegal yet, but getting there), so think I'm going to have to replace them. Won't cost me anything though, so will call Kwik Fit later.

Finally got my tyres sorted out after 2 trips to Kwik Fit (one to assess the tyres and one to fit them ). Not sure about anyone else, but I hate going to Kwik Fit. The staff are really nice and helpful, but it's the reversing the car out onto a busy road with a load of blokes watching that gets me. I'm not the best reverser in the world and I get all flustered
. Luckily I didn't hit anything (or anyone).
Went to the cemetery in between Kwik Fit visits. Spent £2.50 on my share of the flowers.
OH is away tonight, so I'm going to do some housework after my dinner (cottage pie if anyone's interested).
